Planning a hen party can be tough. Lucky for you, you don't need to plan it. As a bride, you have enough on your plate without having to think about anything else. Now you know what you don't need to do, let's tackle what you do need to do!

1. Nominate and Delegate

If you have bridesmaids, the task usually falls on them to plan you the best possible send off. A good piece of advice is to nominate one person to be in charge of the planning process. Most people choose their sister (if they have one), their maid of honour, mum or best friend. It should be someone who knows you inside out. They don't have to plan the whole hen party by themselves but it helps to have one person overseeing and delegating.

2. Set a Budget

It's a good idea to tell whoever is planning your hen do how much you feel comfortable asking everyone to spend. Everyone's circumstances are different. Some brides want a low-key brunch or bridal shower. Others want a week away in Las Vegas. Top Tip: Make sure your hen party planner make your guests aware of the approximate cost of the hen do the day they send out the save the date. That way, you will avoid any awkward money problems later on.

3. Be Vocal

Some brides want to be involved every step of the way. Others don't want to hear about the hen party until the day arrives. If you want it to be a surprise, tell your bridesmaids / hen party planners. If you have always dreamt of going to Paris for the weekend, tell them. Remember, they are not mind readers. Be vocal and you will save any disappointment.

4. Write Your Guest List

You need to be clear about who you want to invite to your hen party from day one. The last thing you want to have to do is un-invite someone. If you want your mum, granny or aunty to attend your hen party, let your hen party planners know. You may just want them to attend a small part of your day. Or you may want to celebrate with them separately. Decide whether you want your family to attend and make sure everyone involved knows who's invited to what.

5. Thank Everyone

Your guests will have made a big effort to come to your hen party. Make sure you thank everyone after the hen party to show much it meant to you. Your bridesmaids / hen party planners will have put in a lot of work to plan you the best possible send off. Show them how much they mean to you on the day and thank them afterwards with a sweet thank you note. The gesture will go a long way!

Last but not least, make sure you have fun! It might sound obvious but so much of the time before your wedding flies by and it is important to stop once in a while and enjoy the process.
