Your Hen Party: 5 Things You Need To Do As The Bride!

Posted on March 13, 2015 by Samantha Costello | 0 comments

Hello & Happy Friday! I have the lovely ladies from HenBox here on the blog today, sharing their top 5 hen party tips for the bride-to-be. Be sure to head over to their website, to check out their extensive range of hen party ideas, games and beautiful hen party accessories, that you will want to keep long after then hen party is over... don't get me started on those floral paper lanterns :) Enjoy xx

Planning a hen party can be tough. Lucky for you, you don't need to plan it. As a bride, you have enough on your plate without having to think about anything else. Now you know what you don't need to do, let's tackle what you do need to do!

1. Nominate and Delegate

If you have bridesmaids, the task usually falls on them to plan you the best possible send off. A good piece of advice is to nominate one person to be in charge of the planning process. Most people choose their sister (if they have one), their maid of honour, mum or best friend. It should be someone who knows you inside out. They don't have to plan the whole hen party by themselves but it helps to have one person overseeing and delegating.

2. Set a Budget

It's a good idea to tell whoever is planning your hen do how much you feel comfortable asking everyone to spend. Everyone's circumstances are different. Some brides want a low-key brunch or bridal shower. Others want a week away in Las Vegas. Top Tip: Make sure your hen party planner make your guests aware of the approximate cost of the hen do the day they send out the save the date. That way, you will avoid any awkward money problems later on.

3. Be Vocal

Some brides want to be involved every step of the way. Others don't want to hear about the hen party until the day arrives. If you want it to be a surprise, tell your bridesmaids / hen party planners. If you have always dreamt of going to Paris for the weekend, tell them. Remember, they are not mind readers. Be vocal and you will save any disappointment.

4. Write Your Guest List

You need to be clear about who you want to invite to your hen party from day one. The last thing you want to have to do is un-invite someone. If you want your mum, granny or aunty to attend your hen party, let your hen party planners know. You may just want them to attend a small part of your day. Or you may want to celebrate with them separately. Decide whether you want your family to attend and make sure everyone involved knows who's invited to what.

5. Thank Everyone

Your guests will have made a big effort to come to your hen party. Make sure you thank everyone after the hen party to show much it meant to you. Your bridesmaids / hen party planners will have put in a lot of work to plan you the best possible send off. Show them how much they mean to you on the day and thank them afterwards with a sweet thank you note. The gesture will go a long way!

Last but not least, make sure you have fun! It might sound obvious but so much of the time before your wedding flies by and it is important to stop once in a while and enjoy the process.

Colour Inspiration: Pink & Grey

Posted on February 10, 2015 by Samantha Costello | 1 comment

With Valentine's day just around the corner, we're channeling all things pink (& grey), with a slight hipster twist. Pink and grey work together perfectly as complimenting wedding colours and work really well year round. The hipster twist adds a fun and free vibe, which is perfect for the laid-back couple .

Adding a pattern to your wedding can really bring your look together and this, along with your colour theme, can be used throughout the entire process; from Save-the-Dates & Invitations, to Order-of-Service & Table Plans. We have a library full of perfect patterns for your celebration and helping our clients choose their pattern is one of our favourite aspects of the wedding stationery design process.

What colours will you be choosing for your special day? If you're looking for more suggestions, click here and if you would like to have a chat about colour and patterns, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us :)

And we're back! After a rather long (too long) internet hiatus, the Little Green website is back in business and I have never been more excited (or nervous!)! A new year, new website and lots of big plans for the next 12 months and beyond.

In the almost 12 months that we have been offline (wow, time flies!), things have been as busy as ever behind the scenes, with the build of this website, lots of lovely business and wedding clients, the development of our first wedding collection, photo shoots and plenty more. I also got married!!! On a sunny afternoon at the beginning of June, I became Mrs. Costello in the most beautiful, English country garden wedding I could have ever imagined. It really was perfect and I understand what all the hype is about now! Following our wedding, we had a blessing at the Chapel in Yosemite, California, which was really special as this is where Tyler grew up and also where we met 7 years ago. After both of these events, we had a mini-moon in California and the rest of the year was one big whirlwind that literally flew by! Having gone through the entire wedding process myself, I now feel that I'm even more prepared/qualified at helping you to plan out the stationery for your big day. I've been there, done that and I am more than happy to help/offer advice :)

I'm beyond excited to be back online and I can already feel that 2015 is going to be a really good year. My hopes for this blog are to provide you with lots of beautiful, wedding related content. From brilliant colour combinations to wedding stationery etiquette, I hope that this little corner of the web can help to inspire and guide couples who are embarking on their journey of wedding planning. It will also be a place for me to share exciting developments and new product designs, as well as little snippets of my personal life.

Happy New Year!! I really hope that 2015 brings you good health and lots of success.

Lots of love, Samantha xx

PS: If you're interested, I thought I'd share some of my favourite photos from our big day(s).
